Lightning Fall To Capitals In Final Road Game of Regular Season

The Washington Capitals (38-31-11) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (44-28-8) 4-2 on Saturday evening in Washington, DC.

Sonny Milano scored twice to lead the Capitals, who also got goals from John Carlsson and Nic Dowd. The Lightning got goals from Anthony Duclair and Brandon Hagel in the loss.

Nikita Kucherov, in the lead with points and the NHL and with 98 assists on the season, was held off the score sheet. Steven Stamkos also did not score, leaving his goal total on the season at 39.

The Lightning now return home for the final two games of the regular season. The Lightning will host the Buffalo Sabres in the penultimate game of the regular season on Monday night - puck drop from Amalie Arena is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
